As an artist, I was thrilled to participate in Rouge Ale & Spirits' packaging contest during the 2022 Halloween season. Being a local brand from Oregon, Rouge has always captivated me with its unique aesthetic, rich history, and exceptional packaging. My goal was to create a horror-themed packaging design that would leave a lasting impression on the audience. For my inspiration, I drew from George Romero's Land of the Dead movie and recreated its famous scene where the zombies rise from the water on a moonlit night. In my illustration, the Rogue mascot "Dead Guy" and his army of the undead are taking over Newport, Oregon, ready to produce ale that is to die for. To pay tribute to Rouge's hometown, I included the Newport bridge in the background, tying the design to the local community. To create a sense of exclusivity and urgency, I made this packaging design a limited edition can of Rouge Dead Guy Ale, only available for a short time. My aim was to evoke a sense of excitement and enthusiasm amongst Rouge fans, urging them to get their hands on this unique product before it's too late. Overall, I am honored to have worked with Rouge Ale & Spirits, and I hope my packaging design has captured the spirit and essence of the brand.
